Who is Somival
SOMIVAL organizes Sports and recreation for the disabled. The organisation is a sportsclub for disabled people or people who are less mobile.
SOMIVAL is there for all disabled people, wheither their disability is motor, aural, visiual or intellectual.
Most of its activities take place in and in the direct environment of the sportcomplex De Treffer in Waregem. For certain sports they go to especially equiped complexes in the direct environment.
SOMIVAL also provides competitive sports activities. For now this is Athletics, electronical wheelchair hockey and boccia
Next to sportsactivities somival also organizes other activities like dancing, musical moments, shows, performances and many other things that contribute to an atmosphere of camradeship and cosiness.
SOMIVAL is a member of the Flamish Liga for sports for the disabled. This is the Flamish departement of the Belgian paralympic committee. This provides the Somival-athletes to participate in national and international competitions.
Next to the support they get from the many volunteers and the city of Waregem, they still need a lot of financial means to buy specialized material, e.g. life jackets.
